Can I use prenatal vitamins to make my hair grow faster?

I got a really bad hair cut (long story) and want my hair to grow faster, I hear prenatal vitamins can do that, but will it effect my birth control medicine?

    I have always heard that prenatal vitamins are good for hair and nails. It shouldn’t interfere with your bc.

    yes! i do it too, and i’m only 13! it strengthens your nails and hair too! it doesn’t intervene with your birth control!!

    Yes…If you go to a GNC store they have the best. Make sure you get the GNC brand because all of their labeled medication is FDA approved where as some are not. But, taking a prenatal vitamin can also make your nails grow faster and a lot stronger plus they are also good for your skin.

    My doctor used to tell me this, and so did the people at GNC.
    I am studying to be a chemist, and I understand why a little more now…

    Its the folic acid in the prenatal vitamins that speeds up the production of keratin, which contributes to hair growth.

    But, just as a warning, it will not only make your head hair grow faster, but your leg hair too. haha, that might be more obvious.

    And no, it willl not interfere with birth control. These are only vitamins, which are water soluble. That is why you will need to take them everyday- they dissolve quickly in water. And dont freak out when your pee is bright yellow, thats actually a good thing when you take these.

    You can take them but they won’t make your hair grow faster. The stuff that makes your hair grow faster during pregnancy id the pregnancy hormones your body makes. Sorry about the bad haircut, make the best of it till it grows out.

    Yes it helps your nails too. My nails were soooo pretty when I was pregnant….normally I have horrible, horrible nails lol.

    The reason hair grows faster when women are pregnant is due to the hormones the body is releasing, NOT the prenatal vitamin.

    Massage your head, and get a scalp treatment every week or so. They are like 10 or 15 bucks at a beauty school.
