        • http://paulayoung.com Ashley

          • justme

I thought I had already met the MOST ignorant and gullible people, that is until I came here and read this. Wow! Please stay away from my family and friends. If vitamins in shampoo make YOUR hair grow, then it is also possible for YOUR ignorance to be passed to them just by standing next to you……(I have to convince myself I did NOT actually read this – it’s messing with my mind.)

      • karennlovee

wtf lmao you dont gain weight from taking VITAMINS
did you get that info from the dumb broads on the bad girls club?

lack of exercise makes you fat DUH
        and too much S O D I U M can make you retain water.

        prenatals are just VITAMINS

        • Don’t mess with Texas.

Actually, you are suppose to crush up about 5-10 pills and mix in with the shampoo. I asked my Dr. if I would gain weight if I took them, and my Dr. said I would and told me I could put them in shampoo. Go to a good salon and ask them they will tell you to put them in shampoo also.

Trust me I have gained weight from them, and I am still a size 1. :)

        • Cynthia

If you take Prenatal vitamins they do cause you to retain water, hence the water weight. Normal vitamins that you should take on a daily basis, however, will not. They are two very different types of vitamin.
Also, do not ingest the Prenatal vitamins unless you are expecting, as they could cause you to have too much iron, which is bad for your organs.

    • Amanda

You can put them in your shampoo. For your hair. You only take them if your pregnant.

    • Mimi401

If you take the maternity pills you will gain water weight.

      So NO, DON’T take them.

Crush them up and put them in your shampoo.

The number of pills you use, varies on how many ounces of shampoo is in the bottle.

    • Mimi

I just started taking prenatal pills, not for hair growth but to gain weight. I was 105lbs im now 115 its definitely working. Ive also crushed 8 pills and mixed in my shampoo and hair oil, so far my hair has grown at least 3 inches in 1mth. Everyone is different I plan to orally take the pills for 3 more weeks the rest will go towards my hair products. Try it especially if u are petite trying to gain weight or add a few inches to the lengh of your hair. GO FOR IT!!

      • Jelani

Mimi, where on your body did you gain the weight ? I am 105..petite just like you and I have been trying to gain weight in my thighs and butt and I was wondering if this would help me?

    • Marie

if you take them while not being pregnant, you will gain weight, Einstein!!! hence the idea of putting it in the shampoo, as reccomended by a doctor!!

    • shala

YOU DONT NOT TAKE THEM !! IT GIVES YOU BAD WATER WEIGHT MAINLY BECAUSE THEY’RE FOR PREGNANT WOMEN !! YOU MASH THEM UP !!

    • Claudia

dummy, you obviously don’t know what you talking about. Do you not watch bad girls club. Especially season 8. One of the twins took the pill and started growing water weight because she thought you were suppose to swallow it not crush it up. . . EINSTEIN.

    • http://hey kaila

if you take them you can gain weight so pretty much you add them to your shampoo! arent you smart?

    • LRW

yeaah you must be a retard, if your not pregoo your not supposed to take them. You can crush them and put em in your shampoo. Stop trynaa look smart when your just making yourself look even more stupid

    • Ja’Miya

First off you suppose to take them if you PREGO if you take them and your not it makes you gain weight you know like makes you fat but if you crush them and put it in your shampoo it will make your hair grow and I would know

  • mee

Dang you didn’t have to get smart with her she asked a simple question idiot…and yes you can add them to your shampoo for faster hair growth she don’t have to take them by mouth because she isn’t prego of course it says take them by mouth on da bottle because its prenatal its for prego ppl she is just trying to get her hair to grow

    • Bethany

I’m so glad you brought up that she just asked something. Seriously, everybody else acted like she asked if 2 + 2 = 7… But I’ve heard a lot that crushing multivitamin/multimineral or prenatal pills and adding them to your shampoo works. If you have light hair that’s not really thick, I’d try not to do it every day, but I know that it works better if you don’t just start taking the prenatal pills because it’s like ODing on good stuff.

  • jess

i heard the same thing on a tv show i was watching if ur not pregnant dont take them just to make ur hair grow because u will gain a shgit load of water weight but if u put in ur shampoo then it will make ur hair grow and be healthy idk if its true i’m looking to do the same thing and was wondering how many i need to crush up

  • monai

taking prenatal vitamins when you aren’t pregnant will give you a lot of water weight…i over heard these lady’s talkin one girl actually took the pills to grow her hair and she cant get rid of the water weight…the other woman responding you’re supposed to crush them and put them into your shampoo…

i would say use common sense depending on how much shampoo you have crush a couple of pills add shake the bottle up because as long as it’s blending with the shampoo that’s good you dont want to but so much pills that your shampoo becomes grainy though

  • lesismore75

I have heard the same thing. DON’T TAKE THEM ORALY! I am actually planning on adding it to my shampoo. However I have found a liquid prenatal vitamin. I am going to try that. Hope that helps.

  • deedee

hahaha i cannot believe she said to take them orally. u’ll gain water weight and mega water weight that will be super hard 2 lose. u put ‘em in your shampoo but unfortunately i don’t know how many crushed pills

  • Paradise

Ughh. Some People Are Such Jerks.
    I’m Doing The Same Thing:).
Don’t Take Them Orally Because Like People Had Said Before, It WILL Make You Gain Alot Of Water Weight And If You’re Not Pregnant, It Can Cause Damage On Your Kidneys.
I Don’t Think There’s Really A Limit To How Much You Should Put Or Shouldn’t, But Of Course, Don’t Go Ahead And Put The Entire Bottle Of Pills In There:).
If It Helps, My Shampoo Turned A Really Dark Green:).

    • Dawn Marie

I agree with Paradise. I use the prenatals in my shampoo, I crushed up about 6 pills for a full 12 oz bottle of herbal essance shampoo. my shampoo was blue to begin with, once i added the pills (crushed) it turned it a greenish brown color.

You have to shake the bottle every time you use it because the pills tend to settle. but i let it sit on my hair for about 5-10 min. then i rinse and add a small amount of conditioner to my hair. my hair has been growing and getting smooth and shiny.

After you wash it while its wet, brush you hair with a wide spaced comb or use your fingers, not a brush (it will break you hair more easily) when you hair is just about dry then take a ion flat paddle brush to your hair (i purchased mine “ion infinity” at walmart for about $8.00). it makes it much shinner, and helps to massage your scalp.

Try not to use much heat or products on your hair, it can help damage it. however if you do use heat make sure to add a heat protector. another thing that makes your hair shinney and smooth is to add a little argon oil to your hair while its damp and massage it in ( I bought mine at Sallys for about $7.00). IT WORKS WONDERS.

A while ago i fried my hair trying to chemically straighten it myself (not the best idea i had). needless to say i fried the crap out of my hair. I used argon oil to my hair, and it did help bring my hair back to life. of course i did have to cut off the dead ends, but i didnt have to lose alot of my hair… it was not a over night miracle. but it does help ALOT.

hope this post helps….. and good luck.

      • Dawn Marie

one more thing…. if your wanting it to really absorb into your hair, i have heard about not only using it in the shampoo, but in addition try adding it to a spray leave in conditioner. not sure if this works cuz i have not tried it… but i have been tempted to do it…..lol.
        good luck!

      • http://Mygoodvitamins A-love

Where did you get your vitamins from? and what kind?
I put some of the prenatal viamins from Dollar general and turned my white shampoo orange. I dont want it to make my blonde hair orange?

      • jesikuh

        I love your tip

    • catherine

My shampoo turned orange! I use the Mane’ N Tail shampoo and crushed up about 7 prenatal vitamins. This was four months ago and my hair has grown about 3½ inches!
I was taking them orally and gain about 6 pounds in a month and I’m rather healthy and don’t eat junk food.

  • Paradise

I Hope This Helps You Even In The Least Bit:).

  • anjanette

you shouldnt put them in the shampoo bottle. crush 1 or 2 pills up before you get in the shower and mix it with just the amount of shampoo youre using at the moment

  • Leslie

About 10 pills…. It works! My friends grew an inch in a month!

    • kierra

Leslies the only one that really helped .. my hair is so short id try alot to get it to grow at least to my belly button lol. It been to the top of my shoulsers no matter what i do.. iget it trimmed every 7 months nd it doesnt do anything. the vitamins in the shampoo will hopefully help me.. buh thank you leslie

      • Dawn Marie

I was wondering if you can let us all know if this seems to be helping for you? BTW read my post above, this may be of some help…. :)

  • Anaa

So I put 3 of then in my shampoo im also using castro oil right before I go to bed then when I wake up I wash my hair I been doing this for 3 months and my hair is so healthy and it grew like 3 inches

  • Joe

you can crush up about 2 to 3 and add it to your hand and shampoo you can take them by mouth but you may start to gain weight sometimes.

  • Ciara

i’ve been trying to get my hair to grow for about 4 yrs now i could use stuff and it makes my hair grow but at the end of the week my hair falls out i just hope this stuff works, so i thank everyone who was being a BIG help for people who’s been trying to grow they hair thank you very much

  • kathy

I have been wanting to try this too..i have never heard of the castro oil though Anaa how do you apply it?

  • JoAnna

Crushing up prenatal vitamins and adding it to your shampoo is not going to do anything for your hair…. When you rinse your hair where do you think those vitamin granules go? Right down the drain, the shaft of the hair will not absorb it, at best the vitamins will coat your hair and weigh it down.
Furthermore, your hair grows from the inside out! Your hair follicles are located beneath your skin. Putting something on your hair or scalp will not affect the follicle below the skin’s surface!
And next the vitamins in prenatal vitamins will not affect the growth of your hair!! Pregnant women commonly have more hair growth because of their hormone levels and their hair follicles are locked into the “growth” stage.
If you want to take a vitamin that will help your hair and nails you need to take Biotin, Vitamins A, B, and E. And yes, you ingest them!!!

    • Mrs. Harvey

JoAnn everything you just said was stupid and I hate when people speak without facts. I am a licensed cosmetologist. Now I’ve never done or experienced the prenatal pills being crushed into shampoo, but the whole thing about it not staying to your follicles is BS. Why do you thing people make and sale shampoos that do special thing to your hair…dunghill because it does attach to your follicles. If that was the case everyone could just use bar soap. Don’t be an ass…ugh!!!!

    • Jones

biotin doesn’t always work! I been taking them like I was told and it barely did shit . My hair is still super short. It would be great if a Dermatologist touch base on this subject

  • cheeze

i took them i gained 20 pounds and im still fat it wasnt water weight either it was regular weight but hey my hair was wonderful thick shiny bouncy and long. i never heard of using it in shampoo i wonder if it wrks sounds kind of stupid like a old wives tale or something

  • alliejay

if you take them you get alot of water weight so inless you plan on gaining weight do not take them.

  • cookie

I just tryed One A Day Women’s prenatal vitamins crushed up in my shampoo! I saw it on tv & wanted to try it! Shampoo smelled like the pills a bit but after i rinsed my hair conditioner made it smell just like normal. And it feels healthy and fresh! & your hair does eat up the vitamins your hair definitely needs the vitamins on the hair not by orally. Only take them orally when pregnant or trying. Now I just got to tell my hair stylest to only cut a half inch off every 2months she likes to cut it to much & to often! :/ Good luck y’all! :)

  • sherice

I heard slot of ppl crushing them up in there shampoo!! I hope it WORKS!

  • Ericadabb

I would say crush them up very well, and when your hair is still wet, use 1 or 2 and put it in with daily leave in products so your hair holds in the nutrience. Make sure to crush it up very well to avoid clumps, and PLEASE dont put it in shampoo, it rinses right out, and your not supposed to wash it daily>>>> very bad (use conditioner if anything) hope this helps, ill update to let you know how mines working.

    • Dawn Marie

      Ericadabb,
hey i just wanted to know if this method really works, I have heard about it but have not tried it in the leave in products, I do add it to my shampoo, and seems to be working so far. but wanted to try the leave in method. can you please update asap. thanks. :)

  • adri

i just started doing this a week ago my hair is super soft so far :)

  • marbles

Many people believe that there is a positive correlation between prenatal vitamins and hair growth.
However, this popular belief is not substantiated with adequate scientific evidence. Nonetheless, taking prenatal vitamins can help reduce certain vitamin deficiencies, thereby improving hair growth and health.
Prenatal vitamins are primarily meant for pregnant women to provide necessary nutrients like iron, calcium, folic acid etc to mothers-to-be and their babies. Nonetheless, you can take these prenatal vitamins temporarily because they basically work as multivitamins, though with greater amount of folic acid, iron and other such nutrients.

  • Bree

i was actually watchin tha new bad girls club season nd one of tha twins said she took prenatal vitamins for longer hair and gained weight tht she cnt lose nd tha lady told her she wuz suppose to crush em up nd put em in her shampoo.

    • Joy

haahaaa, that’s were i first heard the prenatal pill & shampoo shananagans. u bet your ass that very night i went out and bought some prenatal pills and crushed the hell out of em and put them in my conditioner, shampoo, and leave-ins. What is there to lose??? Nothing. I will just use them until everything is empty and if i dont see any growth then fine-but it wouldn’t hurt to try & at least see what happens, right.

      • Majza

Where can I get these pills?
I really wanna try it and I want my hair to my ass lol …. And I was watching the same and they say your suppose to crush them ^.^

        • http://Mygoodvitamins A-love

I got a bottle of the pills from dollar general. I put them in my white shampoo and it turned the shampoo orange. Im not sure if I should use it because i have blonde hair and dont want it to stain my hair??

          • JJ

I don’t think it should’ve maybe if you leave it in too long but you did eventually wash it out

  • Bree

i started takin hair nd nail growth vitamins tht have biotin in them nd it works pretty good

  • brit

so did it work ?????? i put my gel caps from when i was pregnant in my shampoo it smells! but my hair i guess feels better… i know not washing your hair so much works cause the oils and stuff is good for your hair so i wash it every other day

  • Emilia

i put three in my 32 oz bottle. it all depends on how much you put in it. it shouldnt be too grainy yet you should be able to feel it in there. and its hard to crush them up i cut them in half and used a pie cutter to crush them.
    BEST OF LUCK !

  • Lou Lou

Just wanna say, on average, a white persons hair will grow about an inch to an inch and a half in one month without treatment. That’s normal. The growth process slows in the winter. I’ve only heard prenatal vitamins work in shampoo. DON’T take them by mouth if you are not pregnant. You will gain unnecessary water weight. Remember, your hair naturally grows an inch to an inch and a half every month without treatment.

  • Hailey

Stop using sulfates also. Their in shampoo mostly but you can check all hair products for them. On the news it said sulfates help damage hair and slow hair growth. research it, im sure youll find something on it. no sulfates.

  • Kris_Kross

doing this could work if you take care of your hair as well. I also take biotin, i don’t use any heat on my hair what so ever and i try not to use parabens & sulfates in my hair prodcuts. A good diet and other hair heathly habits and this trick could possibly work. It never hurts to try (since there isn’t any risk). Does anyone know how long it is till you start to see results??

  • ZiggysGirl

Ladies, I’m gonna start a challenge with this stuff starting May 1. If anyone wants to join me, post it on here. I’m reading where ppl are saying their hair is growing an inch a month so here’s what I’m gonna do. Measure my hair and take a pic. Then I’m gonna shampoo my hair once a week with the vitamin infused shampoo. I will also deep condition it under a shower cap for an hour (no heat) with the vitamin infused conditioner. On June 1 I will measure my hair and take a pic. I wanna see if this thing really works. Who’s with me???

    • judy

I will def try this method and update on my status. I just purchased prenatal vitamins and I’m going to add them to my shampoo. I’m just unsure of the amount. I have a 32oz bottle of tresemme…would 8-15 be too many?

    • Brisky

i want to join but i dont get out of school until may 20 and that’s when i can take my hair out and buy the prenatal vitamins

    • Mimi

@ziggysgirl I started a mth ago so far its grown 3inches but i didnt record it. Im wit it tho STARTING TODAY

  • LadyRam100

Ok so we all know we were watching “The Bad Girls Club” lol i say if you have a smart comment keep it to yourself Einstein because Your Clearly Wrong… but..im going to the store to buy some today and crush them up in my shampoo and conditioner! I use Pantene Relaxed and Natural so ill post back and see what happens. But Mimi from May 1 says it works so..lets give it a go! Good Luck!!

  • Rachel

I’m definately trying this, does anyone have any results yet?

  • Tamaraha

I am a little late but I’m in it. I just bought my prenatal pills but I’m gonna wash my hair on the 19th of May and then I’m gonna measure my hair on June 19th.

  • Mrs.Best

so…where can we find your results? i put it in my conditioner bec i leave that in alot longer, along wit vitamin e

  • CHynadoll

1st: you are not supposed to take Prenatal vitamins if you are not Pregnant because it will cause water weight ( go and look it up-smart ass) 2nd: I have tried this- I crush them up I took about 7 pills and added them to a bottle of shampoo (yes it stinks) but guess what it leave my hair bouncy and I use Infusium hair conditioner also as a regular and leave in conditioner. Try it you will love it

  • stelli

My hair never went passed my shoulders,so i crushed my prenatal vitamins and added them to my shampoo, I’ve been doing this for about 2 years now and i have to keep cutting my hair now cuz it grows a lil pass my lower back… It really work ladies :-)

  • http://wheresanaya.tumblr.com Anaya Ray

What should I use to crush the prenatal pills ?

    • Sarah

anything. I used a stone lol

  • jas

dont take the viitamins. they make you gain water weight thats hard to get rid of! you are actually suppose to crush them up and put them in your shampoo! duhhhhhh!

  • Sarah

If you take the prenatal vitamins and you are not pregnant you will gain “WATER WEIGHT” you should crush up atleast 10 in a family size bottle of shampoo. and about 6 in a normal sized bottle.

  • kai

i found out another way to grow your hair really long really fast!. what i did was, i got some prental vitamins and i did crush them in my shampoo ( just like every one here) i put about 13 pills in the shampoo and then i said to myself it wasnt enough… i mixed about 2 quarter sizes of conditioner in with that mixture!!! when i wash my hair.. i first put in a regual shampoo with no vitamins inside, and i wash my hair really good and rinse. then i will take my mixture shampoo ( the one with the vitamins) . i forgot to say that the shampoo that has the prenatal vitamins in it also had honey and olive oil in it! honey works well in your hair to make it stronger and olive oil helps with the shine, so also add those in that shampoo botle. once you have put this mixture in your hair i get a shower cap and i leave it on my hair for about 25 mins and wash it out. it literally works wonders! my hair is growing so fast that its crazy!!! also if you want to grow it faSter take folic acid pills!! all works!

    • Cherelle

@Kai, I was wondering how often you did this? I dont wash my hair everyday so idk how much that matters

  • KG

It actually does work i mashed about twenty pills up in put them in mi shampoo call optiuma i shook it up real good n let it sat for a couple now it looks like dirty water but wat i do is wash mi hair first then rinse then add the prenatal vitiam shampoo n let it sit for about ten mins rinse do it again but add shampoo blow dry flat iron add deep conditioner den wrap it n i do this once a week i wish i cud upload the pics of the before n after before i tried it mi hair was maybe 7 inches now its 14 almost 15 inches long n ive been doin this since april 2011

    • CA

do you have to use a pacific shampoo or prenatal vitamins

  • Notmyrealname

I think most of you are a bunch of illiterate fools. I have nothing to add about the vitamins. I just wanted it to be known how immature you all look arguing over something so dumb. You ladies are probably the kind of gals who do watch Bad Girls Club. What a sad world this has become.

    • Toni Pennington

Notmyrealname: How would you know that they are the kind of people who watch Bad Girls Club if you don’t also watch it yourself? Also, how ignorant are you to get on this page to only comment on someones grammar. No one cares how smart you try to make yourself look by commenting on other peoples grammar because you just look like a jerk who has nothing better to do than correct people. Yes, what a sad world is has become, but not because of peoples television program choices but because there are people like you who they are better than everybody else.

Everyone else: I am so excited to try this out! I just bought my vitamins yesterday, now I just have to put them in my shampoo and get to washing!
